“When All Is Silent” proposes an intimate encounter between the pure voices of the VOCES8 Scholars and the expressive power of singer-songwriter Maura Nava, in a program that journeys from Renaissance choral mysticism to contemporary sounds. Works by Finzi, Stanford, Gjeilo, Whitacre, and Ēriks Ešenvalds paint a soundscape of serenity, light, and contemplation, in which vocal clarity and harmonic refinement take center stage.

The final part of the concert opens into the poetic universe of Maura Nava, who incorporates her own pieces and a version of “La Llorona” to take the recital to a more earthly and emotional dimension.
